There are many times in the year that people with a passion for the grill and their sauces have a chance to show their stuff, and just how well they barbecue with some famous sauces and ones that they have invented as their "secret sauce." Which one cooks best, taste best and is just best all round. This is where sauces are made and become famous. With all these flavors around, it makes one wonder how all these sauces do not blend into each other and lose their unique flavor. The truth is that each BBQ sauce is so unique in itself, that with each new grill you visit, it is a story in itself. The way the person prepares the sauce, marinades the meat. And most of all how they cook it. After all, it is all about the barbecue!

So why is Missouri called the Show-Me State? For one simple reason. many people offering so much out there. Back when the states were finding their voice, prospectors would come in and talk the talk, but Missouri wanted to be shown what is was all about, just like the sauce.

A new challenger to the competition of sauces is Ultimate Tailgate. What better way to have a barbecue than at a tailgating party right?

Barbecue Competitions in the MIdwest:

  • Kansas City Barbeque Society
  • Shawnee Great Griller's State Championship Barbeque Contest
  • Jesse James Festival Barbecue competition
  • The Great Lenexa Barbeque Battle

Waiting for the Kansas City Chiefs or the Kansas City Royals to play. Set up the grill and pull out some Ultimate Tailgate Sauce. This new sauce has such a robust flavor, that when it reaches more of the public, it will no longer be only a tailgating sauce, but a house hold name.

There are people who insist that barbecuing is an art. There are some that grill well, but there are ones that can grill great. And those are the ones that will make their mark one day with their own unique flavor and who knows, maybe a sauce named after them.
