Truman Lake Warsaw Missouri
Camping, fishing, hunting, ATV areas are just some of the wonderful family filled adventures that await you at Truman Lake.
Fun Fact: Did you know that Truman Lake was not always called that? It was The Kaysinger Bluff Dam and Reservoir. In 1970 the project was renamed by Congress as the Harry S. Truman Dam and Reservoir in honor of our former President from Missouri.
The camping here is for the perfect families that want to enjoy nature with a touch of the real world. The camp grounds have paved roads, showers, laundry facilities, and many have electrical hookups for that morning coffee. There are fire rings, picnic tables and lantern hanging posts.
Now this lake knows how to build a habitat. Over 8, 8000 acres of trees were left standing before they opened the flood gates and let the water fill in the reservoir. This lake is stocked with crappie and large mouth bass. The lake does support blue and flathead catfish. This lake has been a popular spot for tournaments for years.
Truman Lake also has a full service marina with easy to use boat ramps. And the camping grounds are located close to the lake as well.
For those who just want to cool off, there are swimming locations and a swimming beach located at the Harry S. Truman State park.
Wow! Sounds like the family is ready to go! Are you?
